Summer just teared in Budapest, skirts are getting shorter, streets are getting livelier day-by-day, and the outside places are blooming. Garden bars, terraces, tables on the streets are all great to sit down, but the most exciting of all are the rooftop bars, where besides the sunshine and fresh air, we can enjoy a stunning urban view. We show you our five favourite rooftop bars of Budapest.

Liebling rooftop bar

Right next to the popular ruin pub, Fogasház, Liebling has a hided terrace what has been opened last summer but already became important on the list of the outside places. Though it’s not that high above the street, its unique atmosphere will pull you in, as soon as you got to the top of the cockle stairs, wooden panel-work, ivy covered fences. The twirling electro music of Fogasház cannot reach you here if you need some chill, they rather have soft acoustic gigs often. Enjoy the usual wide range of food and drinks of Liebling on this hided spot.

It has a stunning view of the University of Engineering, the Liberty Bridge, and all the old buildings of the Danube bank. A real centre of the musical and cultural life of the capital, what got the ‘Best bar on the world’ award by the Lonely Planet in 2011.
