The 8th District is slowly but surely catching up with the 7th in the number of its ruinpubs. We have already tested the nice and shady Gondozó kert and have spent many pleasant hours in Mixart. This last, sadly, didn't reopen this summer, but that doesn't mean you don't have to keep an eye out for the Eighth this year!
It is the ambition of Super8 to cater for the families going to (ruin)pubs: there's a sea of pebbles here, a giant giraffe and the promised play corner, which all guarantee that parents will be able to have a glass of beer in peace. As opposed to the places in the 7th District, here the garden is situated at the back of the building, so there is no danger of the little ones accidentally wandering out to the street.
But it would be wrong to think Super8 is just a playhouse crossed with a ruinpub; here the crowd of nightclubs sits comfortably side by side with the civilian activists, and of course the people watching tonight's football game on the TV. In the evenings, there are DJ-sets to hear in Super8 too.
The building itself also has some surprise in store: idiosyncratic decoration, interiors reminiscent of the world of Alice and the Looking-glass await here those who are curious about novelties.
